National Road Safety 21st & 27th January 2026
Students of Grades V and VI were sensitised to National Road Safety norms through a series
of engaging and purposeful activities aimed at promoting responsible road behaviour.
Creative initiatives such as Poster Making and the Road Safety Awareness Pledge helped
students develop a clear understanding of traffic rules, road signs, and safe conduct on
roads.
The programme began with an informative address that introduced essential road safety
practices, including the proper use of zebra crossings, obedience to traffic signals, the
importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, and staying alert while walking or cycling.
Student-led performances on the theme of Road Safety Learning added enthusiasm and
reinforced key messages, followed by the solemn administration of the road safety pledge.
Learning was further strengthened through storytelling, animated videos, worksheets, and
interactive discussions, enabling students to relate traffic norms to real-life situations.
Emphasis was laid on safe habits such as obeying traffic rules, avoiding distractions like
mobile phones, using pedestrian crossings, and showing consideration towards other road
users.
This meaningful initiative highlighted the importance of nurturing responsible road
behaviour from an early age. The pledge activity served as a powerful reminder of personal
accountability and inspired students to commit to following and promoting road safety
norms. The enthusiastic participation of the students made the programme informative,
impactful, and effective in fostering awareness, contributing towards the larger goal of
safer roads for all.
