Under the aegis and incomparable motivation of our Founder and Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Lilly George, the Shalom students excel in coveted world class competitions which gives them international exposure and greater insight into India's diplomatic ties and bilateral relations with other countries. Groomed and trained by the Quiz In-charge Ms Lopa Mishra, 10 Shalomites of grade IX & X were selected for the 3rd Korea-India Quiz competition 2018, after the initial screening test. Competing in a highly engaging yet challenging Inter-School Quiz Competition which tested their in-depth knowledge of South Korea, they successfully outshone 20,384 students from 60 schools in Levels 1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B.
The final round was designed to have audio visuals with buzzer, requiring a deep dive into South Korea’s Foreign relations, Culture, Economy, politics, Government, Language, Cuisine, Society, Tourism, Sports, History and Geography. The laudable objective behind this challenging Quiz being organized by the Embassy of South Korea is to foster closer India-South Korea relations and broaden children’s knowledge about the bilateral relations between these two countries and at the same time, provide the young students with an opportunity to learn about the South Korean culture.
