“Every great advancement in science has issued from a new audacity of imagination.” At the heart of our organization's mission lies the grand vision of our school's Founder and Chairperson - Dr Mrs Lilly George and our Sherpa & Vice Chairman - Mr. Dennis George, of fostering a culture of innovation and hands-on learning. Tinker Lab, a manifestation of this ideation, is a dynamic space designed to foster creativity, innovation, and applied learning. In this lab, the focus is on problem-solving and iterative design, allowing individuals to tinker with ideas and prototypes in an environment that celebrates curiosity and experimentation. In an effort to inculcate a growth mindset in pupils, the Science department conducted the Tinker laboratory activity as part of STEM education by involving the students of grade VIII. Working in groups, the children created their own beautiful cars, utilizing waste materials available. A race was conducted at the end of the two-hour session, to check the performance of their creation in terms of its alignment, construction and efficiency of execution. They learnt the significance of force and motion theories in a play-way method. This activity justified the purpose of integrated curriculum by amalgamating Science and Art subjects. Further, the communication and interpersonal skills of the children were honed too, as they learned to work in a disciplined and coordinated manner. In all, the activity was a joyful learning experience for one and all.
