Sports include all forms of competitive physical activities or games
through casual or organised participation, and aim to use, maintain or improve physical ability and
skills while providing enjoyment to participants, and entertainment for spectators. Sports develop a
sense of friendliness among the children and develop their team spirit. Sports shape their body and
make it strong and active. Children should actively participate in sports to avoid being tired and
lethargic.
Students of Class II participated in different sports activities like Obstacle Race; See My
Score, Musical ball and Knee ball Race, during the Sports Day organised for them on December 4,
2018. The children enjoyed the event very much as they were able to channelize their energy in a
productive way. Games offer children a change from the monotony of their daily life. Sports and
games provide ways of enhancing the children's mental and physical growth. Hence, Sports day
celebration in SHIS was a successful and rewarding event.
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat,
determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called gut.
“Talent wins games, but team-work and intelligence wins championships“. Sports day is a platform
to show case the talent and efforts put in by the children to make it a successful event. Sports at
primary level are not about competition. They are about having fun, being physically active and
building co-ordination and motor-skills.
So, to give the little angels an opportunity to display their self – confidence, patience, zeal
and sportsman ship, the much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on 3rd December 2018 in the school
playground. There were four different games in which the students competed- obstacle race, relay
race, musical ball and ‘See my score’. The children showed team-spirit and cheered for all the
participants, encouraging them to perform well in order to win the race.
The children were full of enthusiasm and each child participated in all the four categories. The
winners were happy to have won in their respective events. The collective energy of the children and
the facilitators added up to an energetic and fun filled day. The day ended with the most
stimulating moment– Recognition to the winners with medals.
Perseverance and Tenacity are often the foundational traits of success.
With the same spirit, the much awaited Annual Sports Meet was organized for the students of Grades
VI- XII at Shalom Presidency from 20th November – 27th November’18, with great zeal, excitement and
frolicsome atmosphere. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the
oath being administered by the Sports Captain. An energizing display of sports talent set the tone
for the rest of the event. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of
encouragement for the young athletes.
Students of Grades VI - XII competed in events including sprints, relays, Shot put and Long
Jump. All the track and field events saw a zealous participation. Together the participants put on a
spectacular display of courage, hard work, skill and brilliance during the sports meet. Their
competitive spirit in all the events is praiseworhty.

fitness, nimbleness on feet and stamina. Shalom Hills encourages the girls and boys to learn and
