Shalom Hills Skaters shine at the 37 th Haryana State Roller Skating Championship. The competition was organised by HRSA Karnal on 16 th and 19 th November 2023. Schools from around 19 districts participated in the championship. Saavi of II A won the Silver medal. In Inline Hockey Krish Yadav of grade XI won the Gold medal and Aditya Singh of VIII E won the Bronze medal. Saavi and Krish Yadav have been selected for the upcoming Nationals which will be held in Chennai and Chandigarh. A round of applause for our incredible skaters at Shalom Hills International School. NCR Karate Championship 2023was organized on 5 th August 2023 in Gurgaon. There were many schools which participated in the tournament. Students of Shalom Hills International School won prizes in different categories. Shorya Chaudhary I E, Anvita Saiba II D, Advika Garg IV D, Lakshay Bansal IV F, Khyati VI G, Avjot Ksur VI E, Aatman Jain VII G, Ishanvi Mittal II E won the Gold medal in the NCR Karate Championship. Silver medal was won by Vansh Singh VF, Achintya Saxena V B, Darsh Yadve VI E,Vedant Gupta VI E, Ansh VI A and Atiksh Gupta VC. Akshit Singla of class 3 D participated in under 8 open football tournament in Ajanta public school, Gurgaon. There were 5 teams from 5 different zones. A number of well known district level teams participated in this tournament. Akshit’s team - Green Eagles played two matches and secured the second position. Akshit played the role of midfielder where he supported one goal and helped to save multiple attacks by the opposition teams. Congratulations to Akshit for this stupendous achievement! A moment to rejoice once again as students of Shalom Hills International School won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the district level roller skating championship. Shalom junior& Sub-junior skaters participated in the 34rd Haryana StateRoller Skating Championship organized by HRSAfrom13/03/2020/21 to 14/03/2020/21at Baliawas Skating track near Pathways World School, Gurgaon. Two students from our school, Advaith Krishnan Menon &Krish Yadav,participated in the competition and were able to make a podium finish in their respective categories. They received Silver medals in the boy’scategory. Both, AdvaithKrishnan Menon&Krish Yadav, have been selected for the upcoming58th National Roller-Skating Championship to be held on April 2020-21. Congratulations to the winning skaters!
“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in will.” Proving this saying right and displaying the power of her will, Saloni Datta of class VD appeared for her English Olympiad Examination despite the pandemic and got laurels for her school by succeeding in achieving the 1st position in our state of Haryana. The results for the exam held on December 6, 2020 was declared on January 20, 2021. Her Shalom family wishes her success for all her future endeavors.

Haryana Rajya BalKalyanParishad organized a 3-day competition for students of classes I to XII in Gurugram. Students of Shalom Hills International School participated in this competition. On 14th November, the Children’s Day, prizes were distributed for the best performances. Five students from our school received awards in different categories. The event provided the students with a platform to showcase their talent in front of a large audience. Around 25 schools of Gurugramparticipated in theDistrict level competition. Winners of this level will now participate in the State level competition.

For the fourth year in a series Yashwardhan of grade X won the Haryana District Boxing Championship leading to his selection in the State Championship. Yashwardhan continued to punch his winning box, knocking out his opponent in 55-58 kg weight category.
Yashwardhan dreams of representing the country in the Olympic Games.
For the first time in Boxing (Girls category) Ishita Sheron of grade XI won the Silver medal in the Haryana District Boxing Championship, leading to her selection in the State Championship. She continued to punch her winning box, knocking out her opponent in the 60 kg weight category.
Though she lost the finals against the State Champion, her effort and hardwork made her grab the Silver medal in the District Boxing Championship. Ishita dreams of a future of representing the country in the Olympic Games.
For the first time in Badminton,Girls category,Ashwika Gupta of grade IX won the gold medal in U-15(GIRLS,DOUBLES) and reached the semi-finals in the U-17 (GIRLS,SINGLES)Gurugram District Open Badminton Championship leading to her selection in the State Championship.

32ND State Roller Skating Championship was organized by DRSA Gurgaon from 06/12/18 to 09/12/2018 at Baliawas Skating track near Pathways World School, Gurgaon. From amongst all our Shalomites, Advaith K. Menon was able to make a podium finish in his category. Two students from our school participated in the competition. Both the students were able to make a podium finish in their respective category. It was a moment of immense pride when both our young Shalomites got selected for the CBSE National Championship to be held at Raipur (Chhattisgarh).
With the aim to encourage maximum student participation and promote healthy and fierce competition, School Game and Federation of India held the Badminton SGFI District Championship organized by the Gurugram District Badminton Association at Heritage School for U- 17 Boys and Girls from 06th September to 07th September 2018.
Our students, Rakshit Rajwani from Grade X and Ujjawal Tyagi from Grade XI exhibited some amazing shots on the court displaying their skill at the game. It was such an honour to witness them reach the 3rd Round of the Championship with barely any practice and yet showcasing immense talent. Likewise, Aishwika Gupta of Grade VIII and Naina along with Sanvi of Grade IX and X respectively in the Doubles category made us proud with their mesmerizing performance.
As truly said, ‘’Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them which is their desire, a dream and a vision.’’
The upcoming Shalom junior skaters participated in SGFI District Roller Skating Championship organized by Gurgaon Skaters Club from 18/09/18 to 20/09/2018 at Baliawas Skating track near Pathways World School, Gurgaon. Four students from our school participated in the competition out of whom, 2 students were able to make a podium finish in their respective category. We received 1 gold, 3 Silver and & 2 Bronze medals in the boy’s category.
The results of the same are: Both the students have been selected for the SGFI State level to be held at Rohtak Haryana next Month.

Sports have always been a very spirited form of activity which has motivated many to come forth and enjoy the game. With this spirit, our young basketball enthusiasts, Shalom U-14, U-17 (Girls) and U-19 (Boys) participated in the SGFI Districts School Basketball Tournament from 24th August to 30th August, 2018 held at C.C.A. School, Sector 4, Gurugram. It was for the first time when students of Grade VI-VIII were exposed to a high volatile competition to play against 25 participating teams. It was an enriching experience which gave our students higher realms to achieve and aim for the sky!
Our U-19(Boys) Basketball Team played two matches winning their first match against Government School Chakarpur, but unfortunately not their second match against Gems International School .
Similarly, our U-17 (Girls) Basketball team performed amazingly well, winning their first match against Euro International School. However, they too couldn’t make it against Shiv Nadar School.
The U-14 (Girls) played four matches and won their first three matches against Pathways World School, Amity 46 and Lotus Valley International School, respectively. Although, they couldn’t win the Semifinal match against Heritage School, it was a treat to witness them give a tough fight to the last.
It gives immense pleasure to announce that our school team secured the third position in the District Basketball Tournament and made us all so proud!
Truly, it could be stated that a determined will leaves no stone unturned!

With an endeavour to promote scientific attitude among the young students, our Senior students participated in the CBSE Science Exhibition (Regional Level) held at Delhi Public School, Sector-45 from 23rd January to 25th January’2018. This event saw young enthusiastic participants from 63 schools across Haryana putting up 120 participatory exhibits comprising of innovative working models and investigation based projects.
The exhibits by the different schools were indeed eye-openers on various topics related to Green Energy, Innovation in Transport, Communication, Agriculture, Technology, Bio-Diversity and Environment.

The judges applauded the students for their novel ideas which would help the world to become a much better place to live in. It was indeed a proud moment to witness the NAVIC model, amongst all other models, storming their way through the Regionals and making it to the National level.
It is indeed a pleasure to witness the Science Department participating with such elevated zeal to ignite the scientific aptitude among our young Shalomites!
Shalomites participated in 10Th District Roller Skating Championship from 24/11/2017-26/11/17 at Gurgaon Skating Rink, Gurgaon- Faridabad Road, where more than 418 skaters participated in different races. It was a proud moment when Anay, Swastika & Advaith K. Menon were Selected for the State level to be held Next Month.
Shalom boys proved their mettle by making it big in gymnastic this time. Ridhaan Singhal & Ayush Bhatia of Grade IV represented Gurgaon district at Inter-State Gymnastic Championship held at Rai Sports School, Sonepat. Showcasing their skills, both Ridhaan Singhal & Ayush Bhatia won medals in Vault and Floor exercises respectively.
Our school students participated in a new initiative by Haryana Government named as KHEL MAHAKUMBH. The First round was played at the District level where various teams from Gurgaon region exhibited their talent. Shalom Hills International School displayed their mettle in the following sports disciplines:
Boxing: Yashwardhan of Grade VIII qualified to the State level by shining like gold at the District level competition.
Gymnastics: Ishita of Grade IX also qualified for the State level by gaining the First Runners up position.
Basketball: Chakshu Karwal & Kriti Soni of Grade IX played for the U-17 Girls Basketball team and won a gold securing their place at the State level.
Priyanshu Yadav won a bronze in the U-14 Boys Basketball category securing a place in the State level.
Badminton: Aishwika of Grade VII won the Second position, finalizing her position at the State level.
Last year the SHIS basketball team learnt some tough lessons as an underdog team at the CBSE Cluster Level Basketball Competition where they crashed out in the first round. This year they didn’t leave any stone unturned to stand out by being the most favourite team to reach the finals of the most reputed CBSE Cluster XV Basketball Championship of Panchkula region. The boys made a remarkable journey during this tournament by registering their win against schools like K R Managalam World School, Modern Vidya Niketan School, Sehwag International School and Euro International School.
It was in a neck to neck competition, playing against the champions of the last 2 years, that our boys lost the final match ending up as the 1st runners up in this reputed competition.
Keeping the performance at Block & District level as a base Garv Kataria & Aarush Yadav were selected to be a part of Gurgaon District Cricket under -14 category team which will be representing Gurgaon District at the forthcoming State Level Competition. Garv & Aarush are doing really well in their category and they have a very promising future.
Ridhan Singhal & Ayush Bhatia of Grade IV dominated the boys under 11 category in the recently organized Haryana School games District Level Gymnastic Competition at Tau Devi Lal Stadium on 29/8/17 (Tuesday). Ridhan Singhal demonstrated commendable skill and put up a great show by remaining at the top of the league in all the events he participated in, winning two Gold medals. On the other hand, Ayush Bhatia, inspite of his knee injury, managed to secure Silver and a Bronze medal. The performance of the young & talented lads helped Shalom Hills to remain at the top in the first ever Haryana School Games District Gymnastic Competition.
Shalom Basketball Boys’ team which started the session by winning one of the most prestigious competitions in NCR region has continued to mesmerize the crowd by winning the crown for being the best basketball team under-19 Boys’ category at the Haryana District Basketball Championship. Shalom team with a new coach had to play a series of 5 matches where no other team was able to cross a two digit score against Shalom.
The above victory resulted in five (5) students of the team being selected for the State Championship, for which the coaching camp was organized in Shalom Hills International School premises for the first time from 7/9/17 to 11/9/17. Our state team made a decent start by winning the first round but lost to the last year defending champions, Sonepat in the second round.
For the second year in succession, Yashwardhan of Grade VIII won the Haryana District Boxing Championship, leading to his selection in the State Championship. Yashwardhan continued to punch his winning box by knocking out his opponent who was 6 inch taller than him. Yashwardhan eyes his future as representing the country in the Olympic Games.
Shalom skaters participated in S.G.F.I. District Roller Skating Competition organized by the Directorate of Education, Gurgaon District from 24/8/17 to 28/8/17 at Baliawas Skating Track near Pathways World School, Gurgaon. Nine students from our school participated in the above mentioned competition out of which 3 students were able to make a podium finish in their respective category. Astitva Thukral & Advaith Menon have been selected to represent Gurgaon district in the forthcoming State Championship.
Shalom Hills International students participated in the Badminton Open District Championship organized by the Gurgaon District Badminton Association at Spuddy Sports Badminton academy from 20/7/17 to 23/7/17. The young Shalomites displayed great grit and determination when even without having a coach and regular practice the eight participants were able to put up a good show on the court. Out of all the participating students from our school, 3 students reached the 3rd round of the championship. Aishwika Gupta of Grade VII-C won the Bronze Medal in U-13 girls doubles category. Aishwika exhibited great skill and played some great shots on account of which she secured the third position.
Shalom junior skaters participated in the Roller Skating Championship organized by Gurgaon Skaters’ Club on 06/5/17 at Baliawas Skating track near Pathways World School, Gurgaon. Sixty three students from SHIS participated in the competition out of which 19 students were able to make a podium finish in their respective category. The SHIS skaters were the proud recipients of 7 gold and 13 silver & 4 Bronze medals in the Girl’s and Boy’s category. Below are the results of the same.

Harsh Dagar (X) and Aashima Srivastava (IX) represented Haryana in the Inter-State Youth Basketball Competition held at Jind (Haryana) from 12/5/17 to 14/5/17. The trials were organized at Presidium school on 04/5/17 where more than 150 students from renowned schools of Haryana showcased their talent. Outstanding and wonderful basketball skills displayed by Harsh and Aashima helped them to create a niche for themselves in the state team. Mr. Vikram (Basketball coach) accompanied the team. It was a proud moment for the Haryana team when it reached the quarter finals for the first time.
The SOTY Awards Ceremony to felicitate children, academicians and mentors from various schools throughout India, for their excellence and achievements, was held at PHD Chambers Hauz Khas, New Delhi. The event commenced with the lightning of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. An introductory speech about the Univ Quest Foundation, an initiative by the IIT’ans in 1990’s, was delivered by their senior faculty.
The Chief Guest, Mr Debashish Chatterjee, currently the Director General of the International Management Institute, New Delhi, gave a key note speech after showing a brief video on his book “Invincible Arjuna”. The program concluded by felicitating the Best Students of USA Univ Quest and distribution of the Student of the Year Awards (SOTY).
Kenneth Lobo (X) and Tazeen Ahmed (X), from SHIS proudly received the Gold Medal and the Silver Medal as the First Runner Up, for the best Student of the year City (Gurgaon) Award, respectively. Mr. Wilson (Dean-SHIS) and Ms. Bhupinder (Senior Counsellor-SHIS) were also honoured and received mementos in Recognition of the Outstanding Mentoring of Young Minds.
District Level Roller Skating Championship was organized from 03/09/16 to 05/09/16 at D.P.S. sector-47, Gurgaon. Six of SHIS students participated in the above said championship out of which Advaith K Menon of Grade VI bagged 2 silver medals in different races & Ishan Kalra of Grade X won one bronze & one silver medal. AstitvaThukral of Grade XI, the school’s flying skaters of grade XI made us proud again by bringing in both gold & silver medals.

Shalom students took part and won medals in the 1st Gurugram Cup-Tae-Kwondo Championship, 2016 held from 14th May’16 to 15th May’16 in Blue Bells School, Gurgaon. More than 40 schools took part in this district level championship.
