Guided by the objective of sensitising learners to the transformative power of books in enriching knowledge, stimulating imagination, and strengthening language proficiency, Shalom Hills International School successfully organised the DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) TIME Activity—a thoughtfully curated initiative designed to nurture a deep and enduring love for reading among students.

During the session, students across all classes were encouraged to pause all routine tasks and immerse themselves in silent reading for a designated duration. Equipped with storybooks, magazines, and age-appropriate reading material of their choice, students engaged wholeheartedly in the experience. Teachers, too, participated alongside the learners, reinforcing the culture of reading and fostering a serene, focused, and intellectually engaging environment.

A profound sense of calm enveloped the school premises as complete silence prevailed, reflecting the collective absorption in reading. The enthusiasm and joy evident on the students’ faces underscored the resounding success of the initiative.
