Shalom Hills International School observed World Mental Health Week 2026 through meaningful activities promoting empathy, inclusion and emotional well-being. Inspired by the World Health Organization’s theme, “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change,” the initiative emphasised the importance of listening without judgement and creating a safe, supportive environment where every voice is valued.
Students engaged in creative and reflective activities, including wall art, artistic expression, podcasts and open classroom conversations. These experiences encouraged them to recognise and express their emotions, appreciate the power of positive words, respect diverse perspectives and understand the importance of seeking support. Teachers, too, contributed by sharing affirmations and messages of gratitude, fostering a culture of encouragement and positivity.
On the concluding day, teachers were felicitated with Appreciation Badges in recognition of their invaluable role in nurturing a compassionate and emotionally safe learning environment.
The week reinforced the belief that mental well-being flourishes through everyday acts of kindness, meaningful conversations and genuine human connection. By listening with empathy and responding with compassion, the school community reaffirmed its commitment to building trust, resilience and a sense of belonging, recognising that mental health matters every day and every voice deserves to be heard.
