With the blessings of our revered Founder, Dr Mrs Lilly George, and under the visionary leadership of our Sherpa and Vice Chairman, Mr Dennis George, the Shalom Group of Schools organised the Japan Educational Excursion 2026 for 34 students from the Shalom Group of Schools.
Designed to promote experiential learning and global exposure, the excursion offered students a unique opportunity to experience Japan's remarkable blend of rich cultural heritage and technological excellence. The itinerary included visits to the JAXA Space Centre, Hiroshima Peace Memorial, Tokyo Skytree, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, TeamLab Digital Art Museum, and Universal Studios Japan. Students also participated in authentic cultural experiences such as Origami and Matcha Tea workshops and travelled on the iconic Shinkansen bullet train.
Beyond its educational and cultural dimensions, the excursion served as a transformative voyage of personal growth and global discovery. Students gained invaluable insights into Japan's exemplary discipline, technological ingenuity, environmental stewardship, and profound cultural ethos. These enriching experiences nurtured confidence, independence, adaptability, leadership, collaboration, and intercultural sensitivity, broadening their worldview and inspiring them to transcend geographical boundaries, embrace diversity with respect, and emerge as enlightened, compassionate, and responsible global citizens poised to contribute meaningfully to an interconnected world.
