Shalom Hills International School celebrated Dussehra through vibrant and culturally enriching assemblies that brought alive the festival’s timeless message of the triumph of good over evil, righteousness and harmony.
The celebrations transformed the stage into a festive spectacle, adorned with vibrant hues reflecting the spirit and grandeur of the occasion. Inspiring speeches highlighted the significance of Dussehra and its enduring relevance in our lives.
A captivating skit depicting episodes from the Ramayana brought the epic’s timeless lessons to life, reinforcing the values of truth, courage, integrity and righteousness. Another meaningful skit extended the spirit of the celebration beyond mythology, highlighting the importance of adhering to rules, respecting others’ personal space, thoughts and emotions, behaving courteously, and exercising self-control. Through relatable situations, students were encouraged to recognise that the triumph of good begins with mindful choices and responsible behaviour in everyday life.
Adding rhythm and festive exuberance to the celebrations, a vibrant traditional Dandiya dance showcased India’s rich cultural heritage and the joy of collective participation. The performances reflected the students’ enthusiasm, creativity and appreciation of Indian traditions.
